2nd Annual Sporting Clay Tournament

American National Bank sponsored a team to participate in the 2^nd Annual Sporting Clay Tournament held at Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee, FL, on March 1^st, 2013. The team included Amy Engelberg, ANB EVP and Chief Lending Officer and other customers of the Bank. Teams competed for best team score and best individual score by shooting a total of 100 clay targets per participant at 14 stands throughout Quail Creek. Proceeds benefited Sheridan House Family Ministries, and the event raised more than $50,000.

Pace Center Believing in Girls Luncheon

ANB’s own Ginger Martin is the Event Chair for the 11th Annual Believing in Girls Luncheon held by the Pace Center for Girls Broward. The event will be held Friday, March 1st at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel. Doors open at 11:30AM. The mission of the Pace Center is to provide girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy. Amy Engelberg holds her “Top Female Fundraiser” plaque for the 5th Annual Sheridan House Family Values 5k.

On Saturday, Amy Engelberg, ANB Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, participated in the 5th Annual Sheridan House Family Values 5K held at their property in Davie, FL. Their annual 5K fundraiser benefits children and families, particularly single mothers with at-risk middle school aged children. Sheridan House had a goal of raising $100,000 from the event, and as of the start of the 5K race, they had raised more than $97,000. Amy was honored as the top female fundraiser. Amy, along with another participant, raised more than 25% of the total donations. The ANB team congratulates Amy on her significant accomplishment.

ANB was a Bronze level table sponsor at the Seafarers’ House 17^thAnnual South Florida Business Leaders’ Luncheon to honor Denise Johnston, Betty Ann Rogacki, and Lynn Shatas for their professional and personal success serving as models and mentors in South Florida business circles and the community. The luncheon and awards ceremony was held aboard the MS Noordam cruise ship in harbor at Holland America’s dock in Port Everglades on 11/16/12. Seafarers’ House is the world’s busiest maritime outreach program, welcoming thousands of crew members who travel through the Port on cargo and cruise ships each year and providing them a place to relax, connect with their families in their home countries and seek emergency assistance if needed.

The ANB team supported the Taylor’s Closet Annual Benefit held Saturday November 10th at their Pompano Beach boutique. In attendance from ANB was Amy Engelberg, EVP and Chief Lending Officer, Carolyn Ivanov, and Michelle Vehemente. Taylor’s Closet was started 7 years ago by then 14-year-old Lindsay Giambattista, who now co-runs it with her mom, Linda Giambattista. Their goal is to reach the 32,000 at-risk girls in South Fkorida who have been abused, abandoned, and hurt by providing a place where they are loved, taught and healed. Sheridan House Thanksgiving Food Drive

Our Thanksgiving food drive benefiting Sheridan House was a great success. Amy Engelberg, EVP/Chief Lending Officer and Angie Sherlock, SVP/Chief Compliance Officer presented the food items and cash that was generously donated by ANB clients and employees to Sheridan House on Friday, November 9th. The ANB team is proud to support Sheridan House, which provides much-needed support to single moms who are doing their best to raise their children on limited income and without the support of a father figure in the house.

The ANB team wishes to thank our clients and employees for generously supporting “Stuff the Bus”. The Broward Education Foundation initiated the “Stuff the Bus” program to collect school supplies for the teachers and students of Broward County. Supplies that are collected will help provide Broward County Public Schools students with the essentials they need to have a successful year in school and help teachers spend less money out-of-pocket.

American National Bank held its May blood drive on Friday, May 4th. Community Blood Centers of South Florida reported that 12 heroes donated blood. Each person received two free passes to the Improv Comedy Club for their donation. Thank you to all donors for giving the gift of life!

ANB served as a sponsor for the Rocketown fundraiser held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at their facilities in Pompano Beach. In attendance from ANB was Ginger Martin, President and CEO, Amy Engelberg, Exec. Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, and Esther Martinez, Senior Vice President. Rocketown is a non-profit recreation, entertainment, and ministry center for youth in Broward County.

Danny Kanell (former FSU football player, and NFL player for the NY Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Denver Broncos) is the president and executive director of Rocketown. He leads a staff of six who provide daily activities for youth, such as free tutoring, skate park, concerts, and youth group activities. To learn more click here …
